Think you have what it takes to be the world’s best receptionist? Meet Sofía Barroso, receptionist at Madrid’s 5-star Villa Magna and 2016 recipient of the coveted David Campbell trophy, awarded each year by the AICR to the International Receptionist of the Year.
She recently sat down with hosco.tv to discuss what the competition entailed (hint: it’s intense!), her prize and what skills it takes to do her job. Barroso, a student at IMF Business School, won the trophy by responding to questions from a jury and partaking in role play involving challenging situations with two guests. Her recipe for success? Be genuine, be empathetic and be extremely passionate about hospitality.
