Ermes Department Stores Plc, member of the Shacolas Group of Companies, is recognised as the largest and most diverse retail organisation in Cyprus. Its operations include retailing, importing and wholesaling of consumer products throughout Cyprus.
Ermes Department Stores Plc was incorporated in Cyprus on 15 April 2002 (Registration Number 129279) as a private limited liability company under the Companies Law, Cap. 113. The company remained entirely dependent of Woolworth Ltd and was inactive until 31 December 2003.
On 5 February 2004, Woolworth Commercial Operations were reorganized and separated with the establishment of two autonomous companies:
Ermes Department Stores Public Ltd (wholly owned subsidiary) – Ermes Group
Woolworth Properties Public Ltd. – Woolworth Group
