Hotel Luzernerhof was originally built in 1866. It was located next to the Lake Lucerne until 1950 and was one of the most visited hotels in whole Lucerne. Being victim of a devastating fire in September 1950, the hotel had to be demolished. It was rebuilt in a second row to Lake Lucerne. The hotel was built by order of a highly respected personality, and kept in the style of the famous designer and architect “Le Corbusier” from the cubist era. The Hotel Luzernerhof was reopened in 1957 by Joe Dittli. The Dittli family was already successful in the hotel and catering industry in earlier times. For instance: Hotel Hermitage, Stadthof and Stadtkeller restaurants were other businesses that were successfully operated by the family. Joe Dittli was able to achieve great success shortly after taking over the hotel and acquired two further properties, which he added to the hotel. Thanks to his success he became internationally present, but unfortunately he died in 1971 at the age of 59. His wife Margrith then took over the management of the hotel until their son Chris had completed his education. During this time, she left her mark on the hotel in floristic style. In 1975 Chris Dittli took over the hotel and led it to new success. Today, the couple Chris and Sofia Dittli are the second generation to run the Hotel Luzernerhof. Sofia Dittli brought the Mediterranean sunshine to Lucerne.Since October 2020, Dittli family was delighted to welcome their son Joel with his B+ mentality and modern mindset to take the business forward. The whole team is looking forward to the upcoming renovations and changes.
