I - Ogata’s project in Paris:
Paris’s 17th-century townhouse in the rue Debelleyme offers more than 800 sq. meters over four floors that make up a modern universe beauty and serenity. Through the art of tea, the aesthetic of wagashi or a simple yet refined cuisine, Paris unlocks multiple, sensory worlds. A work of 20 years of creation, it is a universe in harmony with the seasons, matching a modern Japanese grammar. For this unique project, has united many different master craftsmen and knowhow from Japan to highlight its ancient culture. In a singular way it transcribes a vision of Japan that is modern, sensitive and essential. This new space in Paris’s historical Marais district offers everything worthy of a luxury establishment, including its restaurant, teahouse, shop and bar, along with a special area for contemplation and reflection. True to the aesthetic, it provides visitors with a multi-aesthetic experience and an open door onto a different, “art of being”.

II - Ogata’s concept:
- is a unique place, one man’s vision that reflects 20 years of experience.
- transforms traditional Japanese culture in a modern way.
- renews and updates traditional savoir-faire.
- presents the art of tea, wagashi (Japanese pastry) and cuisine in a modern way.
- is a new daily aesthetic.

III – Ogata’s vision:
Ogata is a global concept that defines a new sensitivity to daily life to conceptualise a way of being. While respecting ancient Japanese traditions, creates a contemporary experience where harmony, the desire to pass on Japanese culture and the richness of its savoir-faire come together to create a way of being. Drawing on Japanese culture in harmony with nature, offers another way to live in our times: it is an invitation to discover daily practices with all their treasures, in a way that echoes their ancestral origins. Through a renewed tea culture, a refined culinary art, a many-sided crafts industry, a sense of hospitality and a radical aesthetic, is the expression of a new way of being; it is the quest for beauty tailored toward renewing the Japanese ideal of what is beautiful today. Shinichiro Ogata devotes his life to expressing beauty, to defining a modern Japanese aesthetic, which he constantly enriches through vital collaborations. He is a disciple of a pared-down, simplified art of living and distils his vision by respectfully applying the rules inherited from the past. Whether it is the patina laid down by time on an article of furniture, or the form of a hand-sculpted object, everything by ’s is designed according to an aesthetic that, “less is more”. New forms emerge, and knowhow is ennobled. The style reveals, the very essence of things is a holistic experience built on five pillars: tea tasting, savouring a meal, using a utensil, hospitality and intellectual aesthetic reflection exemplifies a coherent and harmonious experience.
