Assists the Housekeeping Manager in the smooth and efficient running of the Housekeeping department, ensuring that all the policies and procedures outlined in the Departmental Operations Manual are strictly adhered to.
Conducts regular communications meetings, ensuring that departmental briefings and meetings are effective carried out.
Ensures Housekeeping Floor valets and Attendants deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.
Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.
Carries out inventory-taking of supplies and operating equipment as required by the Finance Department.
Works closely with the Front Office and Engineering Departments to block rooms as necessary for maintenance.
Ensures the punctuality and appearance of all Housekeeping Floor valets and Attendants, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.
Understands and strictly adheres to Rules and Regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the hotel''s policies concerning fire, hygiene, health and safety.
Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Holds a diploma/degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management.
Detailed working knowledge of use of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Well developed Communication Skills and Customer Relation Skills.
Well developed Computer Skills particularly in the use of MS Office, email and Opera.
Good trainer, able to facilitate at all levels.
Comprehensive knowledge of business needs, financial reporting and productivity requirements.
Minimum two years work experience as Assistant Housekeeping Manager.
Preferable knowledge of Travel and Hotel industry.
