Culinary Cast Members at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa have the opportunity to provide first-rate dining experiences while working for one of the world’s leading entertainment and hospitality companies. Working with exceptional chefs and an experienced staff in this unique environment ensures that Aulani Culinary Cast Members can gain the experience necessary to work at our variety of food and beverage locations across property Basic Qualifications Cook 3 & 4
  • 1 year of experience working in a restaurant kitchen or enrolled/completed a Culinary program
  • Flexibility to work in multiple kitchen locations at the resort
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper food handling
  • Demonstrated good judgment of quantity, quality and production
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic temperatures and food safety
  • Knowledge of HACCP
  • Demonstrated passion for the culinary arts and desire to learn
  • Exhibits clean work habits and ownership of a safe clean area
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow recipes
  • Proficient with basic tools, measurements and kitchen equipment
  • Proficient with culinary techniques specialized to the location
  • Guest service focus and knowledge of food allergies
  • Knowledge of kitchen lingo and etiquette and culinary techniques
  • Understanding of recipe conversion
  • Knowledge of ingredients specialized to the location
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and small wares specialized to the location
  • Experience with seasonal menus
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role

Cook 1 & 2
In addition to the requirements above, to be considered for this more advanced opportunity, basic qualifications include:
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in culinary field/high volume restaurant or Culinary Degree and 3 years related experience
  • Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with coaching and motivating employees
  • Adept at troubleshooting and can calmly handle difficult situations
  • Proven ability to create, read and understand recipes
  • Understands the purpose of the knife and when to use it
  • Strong organizational skills; Ability to lead a team in a very fast paced environment
  • Exhibits a positive, friendly and helpful attitude to our guests and fellow cast members
  • Motivates and encourages cast members through daily reinforcement and coaching
  • Demonstrates excellent guest service skills and is able to give appropriate service recovery
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in full-service and/or fining high volume restaurants
  • Vocation school training or high school certification
  • Culinary Education Degree or equivalent
  • Certification from CIA or Equivalent
  • Basic Wine Knowledge
