Works according to a daily production sheet and work flow plan
Provide basic food preparation needs as requested by Chefs in your particular area.
Assist Cold Kitchen (Garde Manger) with salads, dressings, mayonnaise, cold buffets etc.
Keep working area and equipment clean at all times.
Maintain buffet to a high standard of presentation, labelling foods, and quality checking
Follow Marriott 70 step sanitation checklist and adhere to food storage, labelling and covering of all food items.
Consider items which you may require for the following day and inform Chef so items may be requisitioned.
Ensure cold storage and refrigeration areas are kept tidy at all times; maintaining stock rotation
Collect merchandise from storeroom or main kitchen if needed.
After finishing work, clean preparation area and equipment and sterilise.
Ensure that Occupational Health and Safety requirements are observed, maintained and enforced.
Ensure all cutting utensils and kitchen equipment is used, according to procedures and standards, in a safe manner.
Wear and use correct personal protective equipment and foot wear.
Carry out and observe safe manual handling practices and all other tasks asked by your manager
Wear correct personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves, face masks, goggles, aprons and/or boots) at all times whilst handling chemicals or working in wet areas.
Be aware of the hotel’s fire, safety and security procedures.
The Hotel requires that you will follow established Workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations and demonstrate duty of care to all of our associates.
Perform any other duties as requested by Senior Management
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Anticipate and address guests' service needs. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
