BSG Hospitality Interns

Job description

BSG Interns (Butler Search Group) is seeking Interns for 6 to 12 months, working Food & Beverage service positions at prestigious private *****5 star country clubs along the east coast of the USA. These areas include Florida, New York and Boston.

Various start dates September-October 2018 or May-June 2019

Internships offer the whole year in one location, or the "split program", offering two different experiences:
1) spending 4 or 5 summer months in a northern state (New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Cape Cod, Nantucket or North Carolina)
2) The other 7-8 months in Florida's tropical winter

The split program offers greater diversity in both cultural and professional experiences, whereas the 12-month option offers a deeper level of those experiences.

Students cover the cost of their visa, flight and housing. The visa cost includes medical insurance. Housing is arranged and transport to and from the club is provided.

BSG provides close guidance and assistance in the visa process, and with arriving in America.

All internships positions are paid, most at $10 per hour. Overtime rates are payable beyond 40 hours per week.

BSG Hospitality Interns

Headquartered in Florida, BSG Interns specializes in placing European Hospitality students on paid internships at premium-level resorts and private clubs along the east coast of the US. By means of a J-1 visa, students spend 6 to 12 months availing of a very formative program and an exceptional cultural exchange opportunity.

Since 2008, BSG has placed interns from leading hospitality universities and schools all over Europe but in particular Switzerland, Romania, Ireland, Great Britain, Holland, Portugal and France

The European background of its principals, blended with their extensive hospitality experience in the US, positions BSG as the quintessential conduit for students looking to maximize the success opportunity of their internships.

For clubs, having career-oriented students enhances the quality of their service teams. Significantly, they also add a distinctive flair that is warmly appreciated by the more affluent members and guests to whom clubs cater.

The simpler and more economical process offered by the J-1 program makes it much easier for host properties to embrace not just the student component, but the overall cultural nature of the program.

For the students, the opportunity to intern at a private club in the US offers a breadth and quality of experience that is just not available in Europe. The resume (cv) value is significant but, as testified by previous interns, the opportunity has a long-term impact on their perspectives of operations, management and service.
