Head Of Accessories:

CHANEL is looking for the Head of Accessories on our Fashion Merchandising Team to be the strategic business partner to the Head of Merchandising and Multi Brand Retailer. With lease conversions complete, this leader will have the opportunity to synthesize the client fashion offering and work closely with the Merchandise Planning team to support the ongoing business evolution. We are looking for a leader in the fashion industry to take risks and have the ability collaborate, inspire, develop, and lead the greater Accessories team.

Position Responsibilities:

Business & Merchandising:

  • You will be the strategic business partner to the Head of Merchandising & MBR for the full Accessories business
  • In collaboration with our retail & analytics partners you will set the vision with a transformational mindset to inspire and ensure the success of strategic business plans for Accessories (70+ points of sale) and all business models (BTQ, MBB, MBS, MBR)
  • With your in depth knowledge of Accessories and Leather goods from a competitive and holistic perspective you will be able to offer specific attention to price position
  • You will define what the offer looks like varying with the annual sales volume per BTQ and oversee the tailoring of assortments to multiple client segments
  • You will be a champion of our boutique and MBR teams and maintain a strong pulse of client and local market needs as well as the competitive landscape
  • You will lead the strategy for multiple business variables such as OTB, sell thru target, Handbag/SLG segment penetration targets, BTQ sku capacity, OBOS, maximize a regional view, etc.
  • Through partnership and collaboration with our regional boutique leaders you will encourage development of each market with a boutique lens
  • You will enable a more curated offer of one boutique one story by market and help define a business point of view for the smaller markets/boutiques in partnership with boutique teams
  • Have the ability to gain a deeper understanding of MBR distribution focusing on business metrics
  • Through the refinement of MBB/MBS distribution you will offer a  strategic viewpoint on evolution of retail footprint


Leadership:

  • You will lead a diverse, multi-faceted team of merchants through coaching, development, and career pathing.
  • Through collaboration with a variety of business partners both internal and external you will champion the strategy and business evolution of the CHANEL accessories business.
  • Develop strong partnership with the Accessories Global Counterparts
  • Influence internal and external stakeholders with clear objectives and strategies to achieve deliverables
  • You will develop clearly defined evaluation goals for your broader team
  • By building meaningful relationships with your team you will conduct growth and development conversations with regularity to ensure you support the organization’s goal of supporting internal mobility and career pathing.
  • You will spend time in boutique understanding the team and their clients in order to match your expertise with retail team knowledge of our client base

Position Requirements:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years of team leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred or equivalent experience
  • Understanding and experience of complex, multi-faceted and global business culture
  • Location requirement, NY Home Office: This position is NY based and will follow a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and up to 2 days remote. Position will require weekend hours during buying sessions (6x per year)
  • Travel requirements, domestic and international, include 6 trips to Paris every other month, some travel to boutiques outside of tri-state area
  • Availability requirements include weekends during the buying sessions
