Job description

The Head of Training and Development will be responsible for:

Planning: Asses training requirements, identify training needs, strategies and create training plans and calendars in order to develop behavioural and technical competencies in all employees at different levels to deliver their objectives in line with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, Human Resources vision and provide a service inline with the Cinnamon standards, processes and procedures

Development: Design training programs required, develop measurement tools, feedback mechanisms, evaluate and decide on programs to be conducted in-house/identify and finalize external trainers in order to ensure that identified training needs are effectively addressed

Implementation: Manage training plans; ensure training programs are conducted effectively; nominate associates for corporate programs in order to ensure identified training needs are effectively delivered as planned.

Measurement: Monitor pre & post evaluation; facilitate periodic audits; obtain & evaluate training programs in order to ensure the effectiveness of the delivered programs/ behavioural changes and results and if necessary to take corrective action to improve overall productivity and establish service standards.

Liaison with External Stakeholders: Identify/ liaise with external training institutes, resource personnel, consultants, Govt. bodies and educational institutes to obtain their services when necessary

Initiatives: Participate in leisure group, sector business sessions and contribute inputs from a T&D perspective, participate in new HR initiatives undertaken by group as required in order to ensure alignment of T&D with business objectives

Manage Training Team: Develop, guide and coach the immediate team of Trainers based in all Cinnamon’s Resorts to effectively perform the duties required


The ideal candidate should:
Be a graduate of a recognized Hotel School or possess a professional qualification from a recognized institute or a Master of Business Administration together with 06 years’ experience in senior managerial capacity in a recognized institution.

Possess experience in Curriculum development and Instructional design would be an added advantage.

Possess sound knowledge on products & services offered by hotels & resorts, property standards and operations along with theoretical knowledge on Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Front Office operations will be a definite advantage.
