We have an extremely exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager to join our Higher Education team at Chartwells! We have a superb contract with the busy and bustling Salford University.
We’re seeking an experienced and talented Chef Manager to oversee and ensure the smooth day to day catering offering on site and be involved in a new and exciting platform for contract catering.
The Chef Manager will lead and develop the catering team on site. The site is a large, busy site made up of multiple buildings and food outlets, including three restaurants, coffee shops, food trailers and hospitality vans.
Providing a range of hot food and snacks, the Catering team is kept busy during peak periods with a steady flow of customers throughout the day. The Chef Manager will lead the team in providing a friendly and efficient service onsite as well as ensuring health and safety, stock ordering and food quality is the best it can be. The Chef Manager is also responsible for weekly cashflow and reporting.

The successful Chef Manager will have the following skills and competencies;
- Experience running and leading a catering team
- Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Back office management experience such as cashflow and reporting
- Friendly and enthusiastic attitude towards work
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent communicator
- Flexibility within role is essential and candidates will need to be available to work some evenings and weekends as and when the business requires
- Full clean driving license (required to drive hospitality vans)
- Up to £30,000 per annum depending on experience
