JOB SUMMARY:

The Guest Service Assistant is responsible to provide fast, efficient, courteous service at all times to guests. He/She makes sure that the daily duties of the Guest Relation are carried out and deals with all guests’ queries by providing accurate information and proper follow up.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. The holder of this position may, at any time, be called to perform any other cognate duties at the request of management.

  • Be conversant with local customs, Mauritian cultural heritage, places of interests and other other essential information on recreation and leisure in the island.
  • Be well conversant with the hotel services and facilities and display an excellent product knowledge in view of giving best advice to our guests.
  • Have thorough knowledge of visiting guests and their countries of origin and culture.
  • Promote the upselling of hotel products and services in a non-aggressive manner.
  • Handle to guests’ queries and complaints in a professional manner at all times while keeping and escalating records to management
  • Display a professional yet friendly image at all times by maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene, cleanliness and grooming.
  • Report any unusual occurrences and any concerns to the management.
  • Welcome and bid farewell to our guests upon arrival and departure respectively according to the standards set.
  • Ensure that procedures for rooming guests are being adhered to.
  • Ensure all special requests on the arrival list are being action and followed up.
  • Act as liaison officer with other hotel services (concierge, restaurant booking, spa booking, recreation) and essential outside service providers (airlines, medical centres, travel agents, tour operators) in view of assisting guests to their satisfaction.
  • Handle guests' complaints in a professional manner & as per hotel standards. 
  • Any other cognate duties as instructed by Hotel Management. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience

  • A minimum of  2 years experience in the hospitality industry on a similar position
  • Experience working in top of the range large luxury resorts of over 180 rooms with refined services for the discerning and demanding traveler.
  • A previous international exposure will be an advantage

Qualifications

  • SC holder OR equivalent
  • National Trade Certificate Level 3

Language

  • Fluent in English and French, both verbal and written
  • Any additional language (German, Chinese, etc) will be an advantage.
