Job Brief The Sustainability Executive is responsible for leading and managing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, food safety protocols, and sustainability initiatives in alignment with Constance Hotels & Resorts’ vision and strategic goals.
Job Description - plan, implement and coordinate practical EHS program and procedures to maintain compliance with local, regional, and international regulations.
- Ensure that the Group EHS Policies are implemented consistently across the resort
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Manage and facilitate training programs on EHS best practices for employees at all levels. Enquire into all complaints made by an employee, occupational accidents and dangerous occurrences at any place of work, and recommend any safety and health measures to be implemented.
- Monitor, report, and track EHS metrics, including incident rates, hazard identifications, and corrective actions, to drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with department heads to ensure workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance with fire safety and waste management protocols.
- Act as the primary point of contact for EHS incidents and lead investigations as necessary.
- Oversee the implementation of HACCP plans and ensure that food safety protocols are rigorously followed across all food and beverage operations.
- Conduct regular food safety audits, inspections, and checks on critical control points to ensure compliance with HACCP principles.
- Train and support kitchen and service teams in proper food safety practices, including handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation.
- Ensure all required food safety records are accurately maintained and available for inspection by regulatory agencies.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions in the event of any food safety incidents or non-conformance.
- Lead and manage the Green Globe certification process, including documentation, audits, and compliance with sustainability standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to embed sustainable practices in all aspects of operations, from waste reduction to energy conservation.
- Develop and implement projects to reduce the property’s environmental footprint, focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and biodiversity preservation.
- Monitor sustainability performance metrics, produce regular reports, and share results with leadership to highlight progress and areas for improvement.
- Act as an ambassador for sustainability, raising awareness among employees, guests, and the local community about environmentally friendly practices.
- Keep abreast of global sustainability trends, technologies, and innovations and recommend best practices for the organization.
Candidate Profile - Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Food Safety, Public Health, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, HACCP, Green Globe) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS, food safety, or sustainability roles within the hospitality, food service, or related industries.
- Proven track record in implementing and managing EHS, HACCP, and sustainability programs.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and certifications, including HACCP principles and Green Globe criteria.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships across departments and promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
