Job description
To assist in leading the Spa team (permanent and freelance staff) in providing a consistently outstanding standard of service. To assist in managing the overall Spa operation.
To take responsibility in particular for the treatment operation e.g. training, motivation and nurturing of therapists, standards, stock control and ordering, rotas, etc
In conjunction with the Spa Manager, lead, motivate and co-ordinate the Spa team to enhance performance, achieve business goals and service standards:-
- Manage shift coverage, work load and resource distribution
- Provide day to day direction and allocation of tasks
- Carry out induction, treatment and standards training and keep records
- Monitor and evaluate team performance and perform Personal Development Reviews
Undertake tasks in areas of responsibility and exceed guest expectations:-
- Assist Spa Manager in interviewing and trade testing applicants
- To provide rotas by agreed time
- To stock take, control and order stock as required for all treatment and retail stock
- Research and develop new treatments
Manage and monitor operational effectiveness of area in order to comply with hotel and legislative standards:-
- Identity and rectify shortcomings in treatment standards
- Ensure treatment standards meet health and safety requirements and that treatment contra-indications are specified and adhered to
- Carry out specific project work when required
- Carry out treatments when exceptional circumstances require
- Assist the Spa Manager in managing the overall operation, leading the team and take full responsibility in his/her absence
Manage business to exceed guest expectations and maximize revenue:-
- Control costs and manage staffing to meet business demands and to maximize revenue
- Continuous improvement of operational processes and service standards
- Anticipate needs of the guests, maximize guest satisfaction and manage service recovery situations
- Ensure all team members are enabled to deliver consistently excellent service
Provide effective day to day communication with guests, leaders and teams:-
- Seek and disseminate information
- Participate in meetings and lead therapists meetings
