Your day to day

As a Kitchen Porter, you will manage the effective operation of the kitchen area to ensure customer service is at its best.

  • Manages separation of dirty and clean items
  • Cleans and tidies crockery and kitchen equipment
  • Ensures the kitchens are kept clean
  • Checks the washing equipment is in good working order and informs his/her superior of any problems or anomalies
  • Respects the supplier''s instructions for use of washing-up products''
  • Do the inventory of washing-up products and lets the supervisor know when stocks are expected to run out
  • Organises the washing-up area and tidies crockery and equipment in the storage area to avoid breakages
  • Helps manage stocks of crockery and appliances, by informing his/her superior of any abnormal losses or breakages''

 

What we’re looking for in our Kitchen Porters
  • Previous experience within a hotel environment would be advantageous for this role but is not essential,
  • A warm and welcoming personality
  • Team player
  • Excellent spoken and written command of the English language, other languages are beneficial
  • Be organised and willing to learn.

All applicants must be able to work varying shifts including night, weekends and bank holidays.
