Located in Thompsonville, Michigan Crystal Mountain is recognised as one of North America's premier family destinations and applauded by Conde Nast Traveller and Fodor's Travel. On a rise about Betsie Valley, Michigan and a short trip away from Lake Michigan. Crystal Mountain has been a favourite amongst midwest skiers and riders since its opening in 1960.

The Scottish-themed Kinlochen Lodge looms over the ski runs and the golf course welcoming golfers, skiers and snowboarders back year after year.

Food and Beverage Program
On a food and beverage program, you will follow various rotations working through all restaurants and banqueting events.

Server Assisting/Dining Room Server
Shadowing Restaurant Supervisors/Floor Managers
Banquet set up/Break down
Banquet Serving & Operations
Assisting Banquet Captain/Shadowing Banquet Manager
Supervisory skills training

Rooms Division Program
On a Rooms Division program, your rotations will be governed by the seasons.

Spring/Summer
Front Office/Front Desk
Golf Guest Operations
Recreation Operations
Beach/Pool Services & Operations

Autumn/Winter
Tickets/Rental Operations
Snow Sports Operations/Lift Operations
Front Office/Front Desk
Supervisory skills training

About you

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS PROGRAM AS A J-1, YOU MUST:

- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Speak fluent English.
- Be available for a 12-month contract.
- Willing to pay the associated costs:
-- Program Fee = £2,950 GBP
-- US Embassy Appointment Fee = $160 USD
-- U.S. SEVIS fee = $220 USD
-- Return flights to the USA

​YOU MUST ALSO MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

- Be currently enrolled in full-time education at a University outside of the United States.
- Studying towards an undergraduate degree in Hospitality, Tourism or Events OR have graduated from these studies no more than 12 months prior to your program start date.
- Be a graduate from an undergraduate degree in Hospitality, Tourism or Events PLUS at least one year of related work experience in this industry. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States.
- If you have not studied at University level, you must have at least five-years work experience in the Hospitality industry to qualify. This experience must have been obtained outside of the United States.
  • Language required: English.
