Job Summary
 

REPORTS TO:  Regional Director - Operations


SUPERVISES DIRECTLY:  Revenue Managers and Analysts, Reservation Managers, and Brand Central Revenue Management personnel


Purpose of the Position:  To assume full responsibility of developing strategic goals and implementing tactical efforts to ensure all assigned hotels drive and maximize room revenue contributions. This position is an active member of the regional team supporting hotels in terms of revenue analysis, demand prediction, market advisement, hotel training, and new hotel implementation as well as other key aspects entailed by the position/RHG relationship.


Essential Responsibilities:
  • To ensure that hotels' revenue teams maximize room revenue in efforts to meet or exceed budgeted expectations and goals.
  • Plan for market demand periods and develop strategy that define rate levels and structures, determining stay restrictions and other tactics to control inventory daily according to market demand factors through all distribution channels.
  • Facilitate meetings regularly to review hotels performance, selling strategies, and analyze rate and availability with Revenue Management team, General Managers and Operations, Sales, the group and ownership alike.
  • Coordinate with Director of Sales & Marketing and team in development of group and corporate opportunity, pricing and positioning strategy of brand to encourage strategic business selection.
  • Participate in the annual RFP process with each hotel to ensure coordination of rate quoting to ensure fair and equitable consumption of LNR awards.
  • Design and coordinate OTA promotions such as Travel Zoo, pay per click and other campaigns to ensure that no similar programs are executed concurrently leading to a "shared demand" scenario for any one property.
  • Collect and analyze competitive intelligence information to track pricing and yield strategies to predict competitor reactions and patterns to changes of demand in the market.
  • Work with brand Regional Directors of Revenue Management to assess brand contribution of reservations and productivity of brand managers, channels, marketing and rate plan performance. Analyze key brand and hotel-specific reports to quantify brand strength and position against the comp set and the market in general and price accordingly.
  • Set sell strategies and stay restrictions to maximize room night consumption in all week parts.
  • Work with each property to ensure that thresholds are met that result in the maximum return from each brand's frequent traveler club, (95% and 96% thresholds).
  • Assign Revenue Management teams and brand field marketing to create and track production and effectiveness of packages and promotions offered during opportunistic time though correct channels.
  • Determine areas of demand for growth opportunities and set effective strategy to increase share.
  • Maintain rate integrity through market positioning, property history and strategically uncompromising to sales segments in efforts to promote consistent rates with attention to the long-term customer value.
  • Coordinate with General Managers, Directors of Sales & Marketing, and Regional Director of Operations to create forecasts, annual budgets and marketing plans. Responsible for stream-lined forecasting on weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Provide support and guidance for assigned hotels for all departments that impact revenue to maintain awareness throughout hotel of Revenue Management strategies.
  • Monitor booking pace reports for retail and sales segments production and subsequent channel distribution of inventory and systematic implementation of rates.
  • Ensure participation in calls and meeting as available and required by the group and brand alike. 
Job Requirements

Environmental Conditions:  Inside:  Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.  A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside. 

 

Math Skills:  Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to:  Deal with system of real numbers; algebraic solution of equations; and probability and statistical inference.  Apply fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion.


Language Skills:  Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to:  Read newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals.  Write business letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style.  Participate in discussions and debates.  Speak extemporaneously on a variety of subjects.

Data:  Compiling: Gathering, collating, or classifying information about data, people or things.  Reporting and/or carrying out a prescribed action in relation to the information are frequently involved.

Things:  Operating-Controlling: Starting, stopping, controlling and adjusting the progress of machines or equipment. Operating machines involves setting up and adjusting the machine or materials as the work progresses. Controlling involves observing and turning devices to regulate reactions of materials.


Specific Vocational Preparation:
  • Formalized and vocational training must include:
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in a related course of study or 5-years previous experience in hotel Revenue Management at a senior level.
  • Previous experience managing multiple, simultaneous disciplines within the hospitality industry or equivalent multi-unit management experience.
