Freeform is looking for a Manager, Product Management to help us reinvent television, put the user first, and provide the best entertainment experience available. As part of Freeform’s Digital Product & Programming team, you will create and support digital products our audience will love. The job uses every part of your big brain, and requires you to work across disciplines with various internal and external stakeholders, demanding excellent communication skills.
Freeform’s digital product offerings span the web, native mobile applications and a growing roster of over the top platforms. We are looking for a product leader that can help create a best in class streaming video experience, targeted towards Freeform’s “becomer” demographic – following users from their “first kiss” to their “first kid.”
As part of Disney’s ABC Television Group, you will work cross-functionally with other product, engineering, and program management teams while getting exposure to the challenges and solutions at our sister networks.
The ideal candidate is creative, yet grounded; thoughtful, yet biased towards action. We are looking for someone who dreams big, and doesn’t shy away from a challenge (or multiple active slack channels.) Responsibilities
  • Ideation: Conceive, pitch, and develop original product concepts.
  • Functional design: Gather requirements, define how it’s all going to work, and collaborate with a UI designer to bring the concept to life.
  • Development: Participate in the technical development process, working closely with engineers to make it happen.
  • Marketing: Develop a go-to-market strategy in conjunction with the marketing group.
  • Lifecycle: Iterate, iterate, iterate. Take in the analytics, listen to the users, and determine how the product should evolve.
Basic Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of digital product management or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams working on the launch/maintenance of mobile/web/OTT applications
  • Excellent analytical, communication, & presentation skills
  • Familiarity with agile development methodology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building and scaling a successful startup
  • Cool side projects – show us your passion projects, we like passion
  • Comfortable working with both internal and external design and development resources
  • TV, Film, or other applicable entertainment experience
  • Fluency with challenges associated with an ad supported video streaming business and the TV Everywhere ecosystem
  • Hands on experience building easy to use digital consumer products and content management systems
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or commensurate experience
