Job description

Good Morning America is hiring a Social Media Producer. This person will be a key member of the GMA and ABC News Social Team, responsible for crafting social content, including branded content, for GMA audiences across all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.). S/he will also be responsible for managing all social media channels for the brand, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including during breaking news.
The Social Media Producer will be focused on producing all type of video content, working closely with editorial and social media teams. S/he should have experience in audience development and engagement and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating impeccable judgment and social acumen. Responsibilities Candidates are primarily responsible for shooting, writing and editing pieces on your own.
Other responsibilities include:
  • Produce innovative and engaging video content for all social platforms
  • Work with both internal and external teams to execute new branded content opportunities across all GMA and ABC News social platforms
  • Coordinate with Brand Strategy & Sales Integration team on distribution and promotional strategies for all branded content
  • Manage GMA social accounts
  • Establish and share best practices across the organization on how to optimize video content across social platforms
  • Contribute to strategies to grow social audiences across existing and new social accounts
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of experience, producing video and managing social media accounts
  • Strong storytelling capabilities, with demonstrated experience creating original content
  • Proficient in Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere and Adobe Photoshop
  • Proven track record at growing digital consumption
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel
  • Strong analytical and business skills
  • Adherence to the highest standards of journalism – Working closely with anchors and correspondents on their social presence
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently turn around social video product
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience, producing video and managing social media accounts at a news outlet
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects
Required Education
  • BA or BS from a four year accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
