Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) that brings our Company's stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than 100 categories, from toys and t-shirts, to apps, books and console games. DCPI comprises two main lines of business: Disney Consumer Products (DCP), and Disney Interactive (DI). As part of this team, you will apply your project management experience to manage a portfolio of projects for the Technical Operations and Information Technology teams. You will work with Operations team leads and executive leadership to define and prioritize projects. You work with the Operations teams to analyze projects and break them down into actionable project plans. You drive each project to completion, ensuring the project stays on track and helping to identify and remove anything that might block the project’s progress. You drive the development of the project roadmap and prioritize work to achieve that roadmap. Your flexibility allows you to manage a portfolio of up to 20 concurrently active projects. Your critical thinking ability allows you to apply the knowledge you gain to new situations. The end result of your work is the successful delivery of projects that allow the developers to create and deliver memorable experiences for our customers.
This position requires a solid understanding of project management methodologies, excellent interpersonal skills, comfort with unfamiliar technologies, and experience leading teams.

ResponsibilitiesProject Management
  • Own and lead a variety of concurrent programs applying a structured methodology and project management approach.
  • Leading a direct report, own the project management function for our IT team.
  • Work with technical leads to translate project needs into specific and actionable requirements and project plans, breakdown tasks, estimate work efforts, define milestones, and manage resources.
  • Track progress, understand dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders.
  • Clearly communicate vision, plans and project status to management and key technical and business stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage risks and issues across programs and within teams.
  • Successfully negotiate through obstacles to strengthen momentum and progress.
  • Manage project backlog. Drive prioritization for highest priority projects.
  • Effectively manage project team’s time based on priorities.
  • Identify and initiate process improvements.
  • Share program/project process frameworks, tools, and best practices that can be adopted throughout the organization.
  • Help manage strategic planning process, and developing those into detailed program/project plans.
Soft Skills

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years’ experience managing technical projects or working with technical teams in leadership roles. Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited. 3 + years’ agile project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to execute and prioritize a number of tasks simultaneously, and experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Technical depth in software, hardware, systems administration, or networking. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence. Ability to persuade and motivate people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and of delivering results in a fast paced environment, including history of successfully delivering large scale projects end to end, through the entire life-cycle.
