Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media (DCPI) is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) that brings our Company's stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than 100 categories, from toys and t-shirts, to apps, books and console games. DCPI comprises two main lines of business: Disney Consumer Products (DCP), and Disney Interactive (DI). The combined segment is home to world class teams of app and game developers, licensing and retail experts, a leading retail business (Disney Store), artists and storytellers, and technologists who inspire imaginations around the world.
The VP, Ecommerce-NA will manage and drive the P&L by providing leadership, strategy, and vision to define the North American Ecommerce business for The Walt Disney Company. This role leads the online representation of all brands and franchises for Disney’s vertical and licensed businesses through strategy development, Guest Services and Merchandising.
This position will directly manage a broad, multi-functional team, consisting of analytics, site merchandising, guest services and production and heavily influence peer functions such as Marketing, Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Product Management and Allocation. Additionally, will work cross functionally to coordinate execution and synergy of efforts from support functions. Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day eCommerce business, ensuring the development and execution of a retail strategy that meets business goals and KPIs
  • Drive an aspirational guest experience through the execution of a cohesive story across the eCommerce channel leveraging our brands, assortments, visual merchandising and marketing campaigns.
  • Through ongoing, strategic testing, lead the effort to identify new opportunities to improve guest experience, increase basket size, sell through, reduce failed searches, etc.
  • Work with cross functional team to develop plans to meet/beat daily, weekly, monthly forecasts
  • Working with Merchandise teams and Planning, identify merchandise opportunities to include expanded assortments, strategic merchandise partnership opportunities (e.g. collaobrations), etc.
  • Take a strategic view of the digital commerce landscape, keeping current with industry best practices and trends.
  • Lead the Disney Store’s eCommerce execution and partner closely with the Disney Store’s brick and mortar leadership, representing the digital consumer and ecommerce efforts in the process.
  • Lead and motivate a talented team of ecommerce professionals providing vision, direction and guidance.
  • Optimize the experience on existing sites to improve conversion and increase repeat purchases.
  • Identify and optimize opportunities for data-centric initiatives that provide competitive advantage
  • Lead the Product Management strategy across all digital channels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners across Disney Consumer Products & Interactive as well as outside suppliers and partners in order to contribute to the efficient operation of the organization.
  • Oversee concept development, strategizing, planning, implementation, and coordinating of Ecommerce initiatives.
  • Contribute to the merchandise strategy for the all brands and franchise.
  • Continue to drive a multi-channel focus, presenting a unified, consumer-centric view of our brands, consistent across the brick-and-mortar and digital spaces.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in change management, plus a proven track record of building a successful ecommerce business in a complex, multi-channel retail environment.
  • Experience in the specialty retail business is highly desirable.
  • Experience with P&L management, ecommerce and database marketing, digital production, design and technology tools and process is highly desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of merchandising, direct marketing and sales principles, along with strong general management and leadership skills.

  • Mental ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with colleagues, provide coaching and mentoring to the team, solve-problems, make decisions independently, and work effectively under pressure.
Required Education
  • Bachelors in Marketing, Business, Finance, MBA heavily preferred.
