Job description

The Content Strategist is responsible for developing and editing content for Babble editorial and social media properties as well as managing a team of bloggers/content creators — with a special focus on branded content. This includes content planning, editing, content curation, and helping to develop editorial strategy for a social-first, mobile-friendly brand. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented writer and editor with a strong understanding of platforms and trends in the digital landscape. He/she can adapt quickly and hop from one project to the next with ease. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have experience working with writers and influencers. Experience with humor, parenting, and/or branded content is a plus.
  • Manage content creation including editorial and social for Babble, with an eye toward new and emerging content types
  • Write and edit multiple types of content per day, ranging from video scripts to Instagram stories to blog posts, and more
  • Content creator management and recruitment
  • Pitch content ideas to creators and editorial team
  • Respond to branded content requests with original ideas and lead day-to-day execution of branded content campaigns
  • Contribute to overall editorial and social strategy of Babble
  • Measure and report on content performance and address strategy to hit business objectives
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years editorial experience with digital media
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Passion for storytelling, listening to what the community has to say, and providing outstanding experiences in the digital space
  • Basic understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking
  • Superior knowledge of social and blog platforms
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology and content types
  • Polished in presentation and communication
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with exceptional sense of accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and creative ideas in a fast-paced environment
