Reporting to the Director, Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Communications & Public Affairs, the Executive Communications Manager spearheads WDI executive positioning and leads executive communication needs for senior leaders around the world. This is a highly visible role and an excellent opportunity to showcase strategic thinking and expertise in this field with superior writing capabilities and versatility. In addition, this position closely partners with internal and external communication roles to guide executive engagement in strategic and meaningful ways that strengthen their reputation as an industry leader and enhances the positioning our global organization. This individual will also work with peers across the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts segment and The Walt Disney Company to ensure strategic alignment and coordination on various events and engagements.

This role will focus on high profile speeches, presentations and other written materials, including keynote addresses, video scripts, written communications to employees and external stakeholders, and panel remarks.

Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic executive visibility plans for WDI President and other senior level executives
  • Proactively recommend speaking engagements to ensure the most effective use of time and greatest business value for the company
  • Review speaking requests and help identify best candidates for conferences, presentations, panels, interviews, etc. based on subject matter and overall positioning
  • Prepare key messages for executives and Imagineers participating in high profile internal and external events, conferences or other forums
  • Develop internal and external communications -- presentations, video segments, scripts, talking points and executive perspectives
  • Conduct presentation preparation and rehearsals, and be on site day of to manage logistics and handle executive needs (may require domestic and internal travel)
  • Manage content development and oversee presentation design for internal and external audiences
  • Assist with video production when featuring WDI executives
  • Coordinate logistics for interviews, scout locations for shoots, manage executive preparation, offer support and guidance during shoot, oversee editing, and manage the approval process
  • Partner with external communications (media relations / publicity) on special engagements or speeches that have media present or opportunities to gain media exposure
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum seven years of professional experience in a communications or visual communications role
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills
  • Proven ability to write in a conversation tone that mirrors the personal style and tone of various executives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with speechwriting training
  • Proficiency in Keynote/Powerpoint
  • Ability to travel to support various engagements around the world
  • Highly organized and able to effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong business savvy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing communication strategies or marketing / advertising campaigns
  • Experience writing and managing communication for a variety of social media channels
  • Adept in the use of social media with keen awareness of appropriate communication for each platform
  • Knowledge of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts business and organizational protocols
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, visual communications, public relations, English or other related field
Preferred Education
  • Master's Degree in business or area of concentration noted above
