Job description

The Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for coordinating and leading various functions within the Global Quality Engineering (GQE) organization, including mobile strategic planning, project and release test planning, governance, test data management, metrics and reporting. They are responsible for driving the highest levels of quality into all Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Technology releases, and ensuring testing engagements are delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities
  • Work with teams within the Global Quality Engineering organization to drive future-state vision and efficiencies with respect to test planning and execution, test processes, and reporting in the mobile domain. Review and signoff on mobile test plans and strategy deliverables in conjunction with test architecture
  • Review, resolve, and escalate quality-related issues
  • Ensure quality processes are being appropriately leveraged across GQE and be a change agent for improved quality processes for test data management, governance, metrics and more
  • Lead and develop GQE Cast Members
  • Manage key vendor relationships responsible for testing support functions
  • Estimate test efforts
  • Support defect management
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies for possible use within the team
  • Budget and cashflow projections and analysis
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in overall test management
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing team members is required
  • Experience managing complex vendor relationships (in a multi-vendor environment) is strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) solutions and practices (experience with Jenkins is preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud services providers in support of CI/CD solutions and other GQE initiatives
  • Working knowledge of code management tools such as Git and or other source control tools
  • Experience working within an Agile environment is preferred
  • Experience with leading mobile automated testing tools, including Selenium, Appium
  • Demonstrated skill in testing enterprise distributed systems is strongly desired
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to identify root causes to complex issues and recommend options for resolution
  • Passion for quality and no line of code written without testing
  • Passion for continuing education and improving code quality through interaction with delivery teams
  • Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to other domestic Walt Disney Parks and Resorts locations
