DCL Server Engineering is accountable for the architecture, design, availability and stability of server, storage, and data recovery services for Disney Cruise Line. This enterprise-scale infrastructure includes highly available and performant solutions utilizing technologies from VMware, Microsoft, Red Hat, Cisco, and HPE. The Sr. Systems Engineer will apply his or her deep technical expertise in these technologies to develop and support advanced server and storage solutions in support of next generation Guest experiences.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Microsoft Windows Server systems design and support, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft IIS and advanced Microsoft Server (2008 / 2012 R2) configuration.
  • 10+ years supporting enterprise SAN storage solutions.
  • 10+ years managing Windows Active Directory environments, including management of multiple domains, OUs, Domain/Global/Universal Security Groups, Users, and Group Policies.
  • 5+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux server systems design and support.
  • 5+ years of VMware virtual server administration.
  • Proven experience designing server and storage solution architectures for enterprise-level project and application implementations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mid-size to large-scale file services design, security, and data growth management.
  • Proven experience with and knowledge of networking technologies such as VLAN’s, Load Balancing, firewalls, and network troubleshooting.
  • Proven experience evaluating performance of virtual and physical file servers using tools such as VMware vCenter, Perfmon, VB scripting, Powershell, etc.
  • Proven experience with high availability design of VMware architecture and support of vSphere 6.0+ platform utilizing vCenter virtual appliance server.
  • Proven experience with server, storage, and application monitoring systems and concepts.
  • Proven experience configuring, supporting, and choosing an appropriate hardware configuration for a given solution in the HPE line of servers.
  • Proven experience with Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies, with emphasis on iSCSI technologies and HPE StoreVirtual storage solutions.
  • Proven experience with Enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
  • Proven experience with Endpoint protection and Vulnerability Management solutions and processes.
  • Familiar with Next Gen Datacenter technologies, including HCI, SDN, VMware NSX, Automation and Orchestration, Docker, and VDI.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including 24x7 on call support.
  • Strong customer service focus and team building mindset.
  • Approximately 10% travel required.
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or related field
