Job description

Disney Theatrical Group are looking for an Assistant Retail Manager to join the dedicated Merchandise team at The Lion King on a 12 month fixed term contract. We require an individual who is passionate about the Disney brand, with relevant retail experience at a supervisor/management level. You will be a confident self starter, who can help motivate and manage a sales team to achieve a high level of sales & service.
Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains to the evocative rhythms of Africa, this spectacular production explodes with glorious colours, stunning effects and enchanting music to tell the timeless story of Simba and his epic journey to fulfil his destiny as King of the Pridelands.
This acclaimed production has been seen by over 75 million people around the world, and in addition to the London production can currently be seen in New York, Hamburg, Tokyo, Madrid, Mexico City, Melbourne, Basel and on tour across North America, and Japan.
Responsibilities
  • The ability to maintain a positive, professional & service driven environment that fits with the Disney brand is essential.
  • This role is a Permanent position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week. Flexibility in working hours is a must. The role requires both evening & weekend availability.
  • The Assistant Retail Manager will join our Merchandising team at The Lyceum Theatre, Covent Garden, working with the Manager to:
  • Provide assistance and support in the management of all on-site aspects of the merchandising business for The Lion King London production.
  • Manage daily sales floor operations to meet performance goals
  • Schedule staff rotas and process weekly payroll, tracking and associated records.
  • Provide training & development for all staff including New Starter Induction, Probation and ongoing performance management
Basic Qualifications
  • Visual Merchandising experience
  • Performance Management experience
  • Inventory, Stock & Cash Management experience
  • HR, Personnel & Data Protection Management experience
  • Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Leadership – Motivation, Development, Delegation, Time Management & Prioritisation
  • Collaboration – Building Relationships, Managing Conflicts
  • Communication – Verbal, Written, Presentations, Meetings, Feedback, Record Keeping
  • Business Management – Decision Making, Problem Solving, Sales & Financial Analysis, Opportunity and Risk
  • Personal – Adaptable to change, Self-Motivated, Emotional Intelligence, Flexible in working hours
