About the job

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hotel Manager posed to lead a team through the final stages of a multi-million pound refurbishment and to reposition and rebrand the former DoubleTree by Hilton London Kensington Hotel into 100 Queens Gate, a Curio Collection by Hilton.
The role will suit a highly knowledgeable and service orientated individual who is driven to make things happen. Leading your HOD team, you will work closely with your operational team to lead an exciting period of change.
Reporting to the Cluster General Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting budgets, the running of the hotel’s day-to-day operations and customer satisfaction. The successful individual will have a particular focus on driving food and beverage revenues along with driving the hotel’s digital marketing strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
• To participate in maximising hotel profitability, managing the hotel’s cost budget and food and beverage sales budget to drive hotel revenues.
• To deliver the highest standards of service throughout the property ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
• To be fully responsible for the daily hotel operations, liaising directly and monitoring all relevant managers.
• Supervision and guidance of all Heads of Departments in the management of their departments.
• To encourage efficient and effective inter-departmental communication in order to promote a climate of teamwork and motivation.
• Analyse competitor’s offerings and initiatives to ensure that the hotel is offering enticing and competitive packages.
• Develop and maintain operating standards within the operational departments.
• Develop menus and pricing strategies with the Executive Head Chef and Cluster General Manager to ensure that the hotel offers enticing and competitive menus and packages
• Implement and maintain the operational standards required
• To be visible during service to ensure high standards are consistently delivered and to monitor, coach and control where necessary to improve performance
• To ensure guest expectations are met by empowerment through all departments
• To monitor the level of staff and management necessary to operate the hotel in a professional manner and in line with forecasted business
• To monitor the development and maintenance of staff who will help us cover all eventualities through department managers
• To monitor the development of management positions within the hotel to continue to deliver and improve upon the service we offer
• To actively promote employee involvement, engagement and understanding of Curio’s culture and philosophy
• To safeguard profit through control of expenditure, wastage, purchasing and damages
• To manage labour costs through monitoring forecasted business and schedules and to meet the required payroll targets
• Team member appreciation and development is a key driver for the hotel’s success and we invest in external training, coaching and mentoring and supervisory and management development programmes. The successful candidate will be key to working with the Cluster HR team to drive this philosophy forward in the hotel

The Ideal Candidate
As Hotel Manager it is essential you can demonstrate the following skills and competencies:
• Demonstrate a positive natural progression in career path with a minimum of 2 years in similar role in a 4-star hotel or 5-star hotel
• Experience working with quality standards preferably within a brand environment
• Manage people in a consultative style, balancing control with encouragement, having the ability to manage conflict.
• Able to develop the skills of individuals and achieve empowerment through effective delegation with appropriate measurement.
• Persuasive and assertive in communication and negotiations. Able to present situations logically and face up to and resolve conflicts or criticism. Has a strong impact in own areas of accountability. Can influence people at all levels with / without line authority. Has a strong impact around the business by being visible and self-confident.
• Sets and monitors goals and standards in line with the Cluster General Manager. Follows through to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met.
• Looks ahead to influence budgets and hotel’s annual plan. Sets demanding but realistic targets and methods of achieving them. Identifies priorities effectively, balancing importance, urgency and resources. Reviews and adjusts plans and procedures as situations change, and to reflect best practice. Manages own personal time efficiently within tight schedules.
• Confident in communicating with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
• Able to build open and consistent relationships internally & externally in order to foster personal rapport. Offers personal help and reassurance when needed. Diplomatic in difficult situations and able to build trust. Approachable and shows empathy towards colleagues and customers. Aware
