Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Finance and Business Support, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service;
  • Supervise the day to day activities of the Accounting department including Receiving and Stores; ensuring all standards are followed;
  • Develop key relationships with Department Heads and the Senior Managers to provide financial support and understanding of short and long-term financial plans;
  • Develop and implement benchmarking techniques and financial strategies;
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance & Business Support to fulfill his/her fiduciary responsibility to the Company and/or Owners for ensuring the hotels are reporting in compliance with the policies, the Uniform Chart of Accounts and hotel management or other contractual arrangements with respect to accounting matters;
  • Preparation and supervision of the month end activities to ensure an efficient close of the month;
  • Monitor bank activities to ensure efficient control of the items that are recorded in the bank accounts;
  • Prepare regular cash flow analysis to evaluate the cash flow needs, any anticipation of insufficient cash should be communicated to the director of finance;
  • Monitor, supervise and prepare month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis;
  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures;
  • Coordinate and ensure that all daily reports are issued timely and accurately;
  • Monitor the accounting control procedures;
  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs;
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of new Colleagues supervisors;
  • Assist in the financial audit preparation;
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues and expenses;
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures;
  • Follow all safety policies;
  • Other duties as assigned;
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years in finance/accounting leadership position;
  • Advanced skills of Microsoft Office ;
  • Knowledge of knowledge of Opera, Silverware, BirchStreet systems preferred ;
  • Experience with GFS SUN accounting system preferred;
  • University/College degree in finance/accounting;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities;
  • Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team;
