Reporting to the Cabana Manager, the Cabana Supervisor is responsible for providing uncompromising attention to guest service by training, auditing and supervising all Cabana Ambassadors based on the areas of focus outlined in the below job responsibilities. The Cabana Supervisor will also perform the Ambassador role as required.

Hotel Overview: At the ocean's edge- a modern oasis, the Fairmont Pacific Rim is the most remarkable address in the city with its breathtaking harbour views, luxurious accommodation, rave-worthy cuisine and warm hospitality. Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Cabana Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
  • Consistently model professional engaging, luxury, 5 star service to Cabana Ambassadors
  • Assist in recruitment, development and training of all Cabana Ambassadors
  • Assist in the administration and implementation of staff training in all aspects of the Cabana’s operations, i.e. food & beverage service, guest relations, up-selling, Cabana rentals
  • Perform all Cabana Ambassadors duties (i.e. bartending, serving, running food, folding towels, etc.) as required
  • Ensure Guest satisfaction at all times by ensuring that health & safety and smooth food & beverage service is always Cabana's first priority
  • Provide on-floor support and supervision for colleagues when required
  • Take a leading role in resolving any and all guest concerns by role modeling professional service delivery
  • Ensure the pool deck area, facilities, and equipment are in peak condition at all times (maintenance and cleanliness)
  • Ensure effective and timely communication among the department and throughout the Hotel through weekly/monthly departmental communication meetings
  • Provide administrative support to Cabana department as needed
  • Maintain inventory and stocking of all food & beverage, as well as pool deck materials
  • Monitoring and effectively control payroll as required
  • Follow and ensure effective training plans for product knowledge, sales techniques, and emergency procedures
  • Endure adherence of hotel, Cabana and facility policies
  • Ensure adherence of standard operating procedures
  • Create a visual presence within department for all Cabana staff via regular presence on the floor
  • Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Hotels or Food & Beverage experience
  • First Aid and CPR – Basic Rescuer certification are an asset
  • Desire to provide phenomenal guest experiences, a passion for quality, and strong attention to detail
  • Career-minded individual with strong personal initiative and a desire to achieve the department’s vision and goals
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Energetic individual who is able to prioritize to complete many diverse tasks concurrently
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build strong relationships, foster cooperation and lead a team of hospitality professionals
  • Successful track record in professionally addressing & resolving difficult and challenging issues at all levels
  • Proven leadership skills, which include coaching, time management, training abilities and strong motivational skills
  • Ability to develop and encourage an open, stimulating and trusting environment that reflects our Company Mission, Brand Promise and Values
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point)
 

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
