Host / Hostess

As a Host/Hostess with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention provides a memorable first impression for guests of our restaurants and lounges, making them feel welcome and valued.
 
Hotel Overview:  
Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali is a world-class all-suite-and-villa resort set amidst four hectares of lush tropical gardens. Only 25 minutes from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, the property is located along 200m of golden beach in the Sanur district in southeast Bali. Once a fishing village, Sanur is today full of historical charm and a hub for Balinese art, culture and tradition well away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island. 
 
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:             
  • Be present at the outlet entrance ensure with proper grooming all the time.
  • Complete opening duties such as daily guest in house, VIP arrival and in house.
  • Ensure all telephone calls are answered within 3 rings. With smiling voice. According to greeting standard.
  • Take Restaurant reservations and reconfirm/repeat before close conversation.
  • Ensure that special requests are noted and advised to Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant reception area.
  • Welcome the guest with smile, greet by name. Escort guest to the assigned table; introduce the server to guest. Use guest name in every interaction.
  • Give warm good bye, thank guest, wish them to come back and use the guest name.
  • Acknowledge guest all time however busy or not busy and anticipate their needs.
  • Create wow story to every opportunity to every guest.
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all department policies/service procedure.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Handle guest complaints, follow guest problem resolution procedure and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Collect and record the guest preference and communicated the outlet leader.
  • Strive to build F&B data base by collection business card from all guests.
  • Ensure that all menu folders and inserts are clean and current.
  • Maintain inventory of menus and inserts. Ensure that all guest supplies are filled.
  • Order and maintain the guest supply inventory.
  • Complete the floor plan and assign Server’s to stations with approval from the Restaurant Manager.
  • Attend daily briefings, meetings and training as required.
  • Complete closing duty such as proper store all reusable goods, restock items for next service, transport dirty linen to laundry and secure all supplies at end of shift.
  • Monitor guest comment/feedback – record and pass to Restaurant Manager.
  • Maintain reservation book and log book, keep clean and organize all the time.
  • Leave duty after reporting to Supervisor or Manager in charge.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Micros and manual systems.
  • Direct guest to restrooms an outlined with Fairmont Sanur Beach Bali standards if and when requested.
  • Adhere to all payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
  • Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Complete closing side duties.
  • Complete all closing reports as assigned and leave duty after reporting to Manager/Supervisor.
  • In addition, other duties as may be required as directed by your Manager
Qualifications:
  • Previous service experience an asset
  • Previous Point of Sale System experience an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
 
Visa Requirements: Due to Indonesian law and regulations, this position is only opened for local hiring (Indonesian passport holder).
