Assistant / Sales Manager

 

Hotel Overview:

This is a Shared Service position which supports both Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford. The Assistant / Sales Manager is responsible to drive revenue for the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Events (MICE) segment by booking profitable group business from key accounts, key prospects and other active accounts.

 

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Sales, Tours & Travel & MICE, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Exceeding personal sales goals, monthly, quarterly, annually, through account development and maintenance
  • Scheduling effective sales calls and appointments within assigned markets and achievement of 25 sales calls a week

  • Participate in prescribed training and special projects, assisting in the development and training of sales coordinator, collecting market and competitive intelligence and be prepared to contribute to tactics and strategies discussion

  • Responsibilities include quoting rates and negotiate group rooms contracts within established parameters, keeping accurate records of potential customers and following through on all potential business

  • Utilizing Opera Sales and Catering System to track, solicit, book and follow-up accounts and preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Develop lead sources and rapport with key personnel at Convention and Visitors Bureau, Industry Partners and Global Sales Offices. Maintain active membership in industry related organizations and associations pertaining to the specific market.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum GCE “A” Level / Diploma Holder
  • Previous experence in group sales is an asset
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Opera and Property Manager experience preferred
