About the job

Main responsibilities and requirements for this position are;

  • Lead the team to achieve targeted growth. 
  • Strong understanding of business dynamics and market requirement. Ability to lead and inspire the team to come up with new ideas and continue innovation to maintain our market leadership. 
  • Supervision and overall responsibility of the Catering function including maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from Catering and CS Managers and Catering Administrative Assistants.  
  • Actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain local corporate catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment.  
  • Prepare analysis of the Catering weekly 3-month financial forecast, month end financial summaries, and contribute to the annual Marketing Plan and Budget. 
  • Evaluate current sales practices and make recommendations to maximize the profitability of the Catering and Conference Services resources. 
  • Oversee the quarterly administration and seek new ways to motivate and maximize revenues with the Catering and Conference Services Incentive plans. 
  • Find solutions to the inevitable challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property and keep Director of Marketing and Planning Committee promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate. 
  • Lead and participate in morning briefing, resume meeting, banquet event order meeting, Catering Sales meeting, Pre-Convention Meetings, Board of Operations, Menu Tastings and Planning Site Visits.  
  • Conduct performance evaluations and mentor for, Catering team. In addition, recommend the hiring, terminating, or disciplining of any Catering or Banquet employee.  
  • Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event. Supervise the execution of all banquet events (Groups, Catering Functions and Weddings).  
  • Creating and reviewing annual budget and take part of the hotel''s business plan. 
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by DOSM or Planning Committee.  
  • Maintain an active and visible role in the local business and social community to generate new business, recruit future employees and managers, and support the public relations efforts of the hotel.  
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the same position in a luxury international chain 
  • Excellent organizational skills, Attention to detail, Ability to multitask 
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, weekends, and evenings 
  • Ability to negotiate, organize, delegate & work under pressure 
  • Proven track record in handling social and corporate events 
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Strong communication skills
