Daniel Boulud and Four Seasons Hotel have partnered in opening two of the most successful outlets in all of Toronto with a combined revenue exceeding 10 million dollars. Both bar and restaurant are poised as the best new dining experience in the city. We are seeking two Assistant Restaurant Managers to oversee the operation of Café Boulud and dbar. Located at the corner of Bay & Yorkville Ave, in the heart of Midtown Toronto’s trendy Yorkville, this is a prime location. With 140 seats in a modern setting, Michelin-starred Chef Daniel Boulud effortlessly pairs the cosmopolitan flavours of Toronto’s diverse cultures with classic and contemporary French dishes.

Job Duties

•Participating in the community as a representative of the company;

•Responding to customer complaints and resolving them in a way that ensures the customer will return again and ensures that every customer leaves happy;

•Maintaining and promoting among staff a “no-compromise” attitude towards providing the highest possible level of hospitality, quality and value to the customer;

•Taking action to ensure the standards of both Four Seasons and the Dinex Group are upheld and applied firmly and fairly and the DNA of the concept is preserved;

•Coordinating with the management team in the recruitment, retention, training and development of an optimum number of staff who are enthusiastically dedicated to delivering the highest level of hospitality, quality and value to the customer

•Demonstrating and reinforcing leadership behaviours necessary to gain employees’ loyalty, satisfaction and pride;

•Providing clear and effective direction and guidance;

•Effectively overseeing staff during operations;

•Maintaining safe and secure working conditions throughout all areas of the operation for the well-being of restaurant staff, the protection of restaurant assets, and the safety of our guests;

•Administering written performance reviews for staff;

•Complying with all policies and procedures, current federal, provincial and local laws, guidelines and regulations;

•Opening and closing the restaurant and ensuring appropriate housekeeping and presentation standards are adhered to following established procedures and checklists;

•Administering in-restaurant payroll and employment record keeping procedures;

•Ensuring that all restaurant paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis including but not limited to: daily sheets, purchase orders, accounts payable, bank deposits and employment-related forms;

•Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Skill Set

•At least 5 years of experience in the restaurant industry, with at least 3 of those years in a managerial role in a high volume restaurant;

•An in-depth knowledge of the Toronto restaurant scene;

•Excellent ability to handle high profile clientele with confidence and professionalism;

•Experience with restaurant computer systems, point-of-sale systems, word processing software, and general office equipment;

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, standing for extended periods of time;

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
