Director of Events, Regular Full-Time

The Director of Events will oversee all group business and sales including conference and banquet events, individual receptions, weddings and celebrations. They will also be responsible for all event staff. This position will uncover, prospect and sell social catering segment business, in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan. Director of Events will monitor and motivate the sales activities and the social catering sales tea ensuring that all sales persons'' quotas are met. Director of Events will Lead Service Leadership team (including banquet leadership team). Position will ensure that all service persons’ MBO and upsell goals are met as well as implement and support all Sales and Marketing MOS.

They will be responsible for supervising the Events Department and be responsible for recruitment for and coaching and developing employees to achieve goals. They will be able to assist in the absence of the Director of Sales and Marketing. The Director of Events will also be responsible for long range strategic planning to include Events Sales Goals and Annual Marketing Plan. They will appropriately communicate with employees and managers to ensure client and guest needs are met and sales goals are achieved. 

Director of Events skills and qualifications needed:  College degree or equivalent experience.  Previous Director of Events, Director of Sales, or Sales Manager experience required.  Previous experience in a luxury hotel setting preferred. Working knowledge of excel, word and power point required.   

Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States.
