The Opportunity: 

Catering Sales Manager 

Who We Look For: 

We are looking for an individual who can provide leadership support to our Catering Sales team. In this role, you will secure and service Social Catering Business, through active and effective promotion, networking, solicitation, and prospecting, while maintaining Four Seasons standards and maximizing revenue/profit potential. 


  • Respond to inquiries and actively solicit new business with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving Monthly Production Goals.   

  • Uncover clients’ implied needs and wishes and create highly customized proposals accordingly.  

  • Create and conduct memorable site inspection experiences, showcasing the resort and setting it apart from the competition to maximize business capture, through intuitive selling.  

  • Entertain wedding tastemakers on a regular basis.  

  • Coordinate the sales efforts between sales and catering departments to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.    

  • Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning Catering Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Monthly Board of Operations, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.  

  • Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through creative upselling and ensuring effective communication both written (including Proposals, BEO, Resumes) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event(s). Provide billing review on completion of event(s).    

  • Supervise the execution of banquet events. Review all function space with banquet manager / head house attendant. Ensure clients’ satisfaction during events.  

  • Keep Director of Catering promptly and fully informed of all potential problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.  

  • Respond according to the crisis management plan to any resort emergency or safety situation.  

  • Comply with Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.    

  • Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.   


  • Assist Catering Department as required, by selling and servicing corporate catering business as needed based on business demand and department needs.   

  • Assist with guest inquiries within the Sales, Marketing, Conference Services and Catering Department, including assistance with high telephone volume and walk-in site inspections.  

  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management   

  • Provide input on the marketing plan and budget.   

  • Be fully versed in the facilities and capabilities of the resorts competitive set.  

  • Maintain a highly visible presence in the community through involvement with Industry associations   

  • Assist in developing and executing projects for assigned market areas to increase catering activity, volume, and profit.   

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Experience: 3 years' previous social catering sales experience is required. Candidates without that experience level will not be considered.  

  • Skills & Abilities: Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.  

  • Strong selling and interpersonal skills.  

  • High level of creativity.  

  • Attention to detail.  

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and make decisions in a fast-paced and client-driven environment.  

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, especially weekends and  evenings  

  • Golden Sales and Catering Computer Software, MS Word, Excel, and ability to use e-mail and the Internet.  

A successful candidate will have a flexible schedule, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. Must be fluent in English and possess legal work authorization in the United States.
