Four Seasons Hotel Boston has an opening for a Director of Food and Beverage. This position provides leadership and management of the Food & Beverage Division, by establishing plans of character, integrity, and quality which result in the long-range continued growth and profitability of the division and Hotel. The ideal candidate will work congruently to maintain and establish new trainings for all positions within the division, create a culture of accountability and inspire employees to be proactive and enhance service wherever needed. The successful candidate will oversee our Food & Beverage operation including our Restaurant, Outlets, Coffee Bar and Banquets.
The Food and Beverage Director is expected to be continuously looking to improve and evolve our services allowing us to stay on top of new trends, while maintaining our reputation of outstanding service in the industry. Candidates should have five to seven years of proven growth within the Food and Beverage Management.
Basic Functions of the position are:
1. Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making, and inventory control while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions to maximize profit in the division and hotel.
2. The ability to be visible in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests as well as cultivate relationships with new patrons through effective marketing and personal relationships.
3. The ability to work closely with the General Manager and Planning Committee to design effective menus, wine lists, and amenity options while ensuring excellent product quality.
4. Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
5.Maintain, create and implement a budget based on forecast, demand, occupancy and historical data in order to achieve year over year gain.
