About the job



The Director of Security has responsibility for the day to day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property.

Basic Purpose:  

Ability to manage and supervise the day to day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests, personnel and property.

Essential Functions:

The ability to review and conduct performance evaluations for Security staff. (10%) The ability to implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety. (10%) The ability to design and implement preventive safety and security programs. (10%) The ability to prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the hotel. (5%) The ability to investigate crimes committed against the hotel, guests, and employees. (10%) The ability to document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities and insurance requirements.  And in documenting such activities remain objective, and write comprehensive reports. (5%) The ability to assist hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems, such as, but not limited to, disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance and natural disasters. (10%) The ability to conduct and/ or organize Hazard Communication and Blood Bourne Pathogen Training. (5%) The ability to keep abreast of developments within the hotel and community as they relate to security as well as act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies. (5%) The ability to take an active role in the development and implementation of the hotel's fire plan, in addition to testing the hotels Fire and Emergency Response preparedness. (10%) Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Two Work Rules and standards of conduct as set forth in EmPact. (10%) Comply with Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee. (10%)

Must be able to complete all company required COVID19 Trainings within 30-days of employment. This position is responsible for any COVID19 related items including employees, guests, vendors as related to the hotel.

Non-Essential Functions:

Knowledge and Skills: HIOSH, OSHA, First Aid, CPR, SDS, COVID19 (CDC and State of Hawaii DOH)

Education:                         College education or equivalent experience

Experience:                       3-5 Years as a Director of Security in hospitality preferred.

Skills and Abilities:           Able to build a strong relationship, with department employees, managers, colleagues and vendors. Must be proficient with computers, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

No. of employees supervised:        Up to 8-10 in a shift.

Travel required:               May travel.

Hours required:                Scheduled days and times may vary based on need, including weekend, holidays and overnight.
