About the job

•The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supervises and coordinates activities of villa, public area, staff facilities and laundry attendants. He/She assists in the managing and directing of the day–to–day operations of all Housekeeping and Laundry functions.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
1. Attend all meetings and events when Housekeeping manager is not on duty or unable to attend
2. Assist with overseeing Housekeeping/Laundry operations
3. Monitor the appearance and performance of all Housekeeping Team Members
4. Inspect villas for arrivals and release if all standards have been met
5. Responsible to ensure that all storage areas are kept neat and tidy
6. Conduct daily inspections of all Housekeeping areas
7. Implement all Housekeeping policies and procedures including Health and Safety
8. Ensure all team member have knowledge of all room amenities and set up
9. Conduct morning briefings in the absence of Housekeeping manager to ensure all information is communicated
10. Take appropriate action with team members when not complying with hotel policies
11. Engage in day daily and turn down service to ensure all procedures are followed
12. Assist with cleaning of villas / Public Areas and Staff Facilities when necessary
13. Assign team members their daily villas allocated and inspect to ensure that cleanliness is up to the highest standard
14. Emphasize on all team members to sign the key log book when villa keys are taken and returned
15. Schedule daily public area duties
16. Prepare weekly Roster
17. Prepare daily minibar consumption report
18. Prepare weekly requisition for the department with appropriate amounts
19. Maintain efficient communication with all departments
20. Carry out monthly inventories of cleaning supplies, linen, minibar beverages and guests amenities
21. Monitor and maintain correct pa stock of uniforms and linen
22. Attend to any guest complaints and take appropriate measures to overcome the issue
23. Liaise with contractors for servicing of laundry equipment
24. Monitor all staff members timekeeping to avoid unnecessary/unapproved overtime
25. Conduct regular training and refresh to ensure that all team members are familiar with LQA standard
26. Always reports to work on time
27. Performs any duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager
28. Maintains polite relations with all employees
29. Abides by all regulation s laid down by the hotel, written or verbal

About you

Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or related discipline with at least 2 years experience as an Assistant Housekeeper Manager
Thorough knowledge of modern housekeeping techniques and the latest in cleaning technology, hygiene & safety standards.
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Knowledge of various chemicals and cleaning equipment
Excellent communication skills, team work and customer service
Excellent people management skills.
Previous experience in an Island environment would be an advantage
