The Landmark London is recruiting for a Switchboard Operator. About the role We are currently looking for a passionate Switchboard Operator, to join our Switchboard Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and welcoming team on a permanent basis, and help us to consistently deliver memorable moments and five star service to our guests and each other. At The Landmark London, our purpose is to enrich the journeys of our people and our guests and as a Switchboard Operator, your main duties will include: 1. To answer all incoming calls within three rings using the Landmark London''s Standards of Etiquette. 2. To set up the workstation with Daily Event Sheet and message pad. 3. To have complete knowledge of the hotel and its facilities, as well as knowledge of events taking place within the hotel and the city. 4. To keep the PBX area clean and orderly at all times. 5. To be willing to perform any and all reasonable duties assigned to this department and tasks assigned to the individual. 6. To perform all job functions in accordance with established procedures. 7. To attend all PABX departmental meetings. 8. To assist in the training of new employees on console for operators and all casual staff where needed. 9. To ensure that all white boards are updated with the correct information at all times. 10. To never give out employee home phone numbers or information to guests unless authorised by the Front Office management or Switchboard Manager. 11. To refer any guests for confidential information, complaints or problems to the Switchboard Manager, Duty Manager or Assistant Director Rooms. If guest cannot wait, operator must get a name and room number for the appropriate Manager to contact them. As a Switchboard Operator, you will be required to work 40 hours per week, on a shift rota.
