Job Summary

A Valet Parking Cashier is responsible for greeting guests and processing all parking transactions and associated fees in the hotel''s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.


What will I be doing?

As a Valet Parking Cashier, you would be responsible for greeting guests and processing all parking transactions and associated fees in the hotel''s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Greet arriving and departing guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Total, process and collect payments from guests and all parking transactions to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, managing a bank, reporting discrepancies, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards, vouchers and credits
  • Operate and manage the parking booth area
  • Maintain accurate records of parking-related charges and fees including, but not limited to parking rates, validations, accrued parking time, vehicles in the hotel''s care, etc.
  • Manage flow of traffic, as needed
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Prior hospitality and guest service experience preferred. Experience with handling multi-line telephones.
GROOMING
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
OTHER
Applicants with additional language skills preferred.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to listen effectively, speak, read and write English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for the duration of the work shift.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands.
