Job Summary

***This is a Jr. level Field Based role in Washington D.C.***


As Cluster IT Manager, you will provide IT and Telecom leadership to the properties within the Cluster, including effectively communicating, managing, and delivering IT and Telecom Systems and procedures that comply with Corporate and Brand IT and Telecom standards. You will be responsible for managing project plans, ensuring that the implementation and upgrades of major systems will be completed on time and within budget.


What will I be doing?

As Cluster IT Manager, you will support hotels with business solutions using Technology including installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware to ensure optimal performance. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and providing end-user training and assistance.


As a Team Member in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Researching and identifying business opportunities for technology as well as reporting findings and conclusions to upper management
  • Assisting in setting the overall technical vision of regional properties
  • Evaluating property needs and technology solutions to improve profit and/or efficiency while managing initiatives within parameters
  • Maintaining documentation on the Team site for each Cluster property
  • Preparing a status report of all activities in the hotels within the Cluster as requested
  • Participating in Executive Committee, departmental and operations meetings as appropriate
  • Attending Regional IT meetings and periodic Cluster Team meetings
  • Working within the constraints of each property IT budget as prepared by yourself, the Area IT Manager or Regional Director
  • Setting up and maintaining computer software and hardware for Team Members
  • Directing, setting up, maintaining and monitoring property servers, including backups, property LAN performance, telecom systems and workstations
  • Administrating hotel systems, supporting the IDM Administrator and assisting with registration as required
  • Working with HSC and all vendors to ensure the timely resolution of IT issues as appropriate
  • Acting on support calls passed by HSC for systems and applications not supported by HSC or that require onsite activity by Cluster IT
  • Using network monitoring tools to perform periodic health checks of the systems
  • Managing and monitoring PBX system performance to assure dependable and uninterrupted operation of telephone communications
  • Coordinating with other departments to understand and meet their requirements
  • Overseeing and troubleshooting the entire communications system to determine if a problem is telephone hardware or cable
  • Managing the testing and evaluation of hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability and compatibility with existing systems
  • Performing preventative maintenance and minor equipment repairs while overseeing correction of PBX alarm conditions
  • Setting up and providing training to new users as well as relocating existing users with telephone extensions, calling features, voicemail and access codes
  • Overseeing monthly cell phone usage and equipment, ensuring that the most cost-effective plans available are utilized
  • Overseeing proper controls to ensure hotels comply with SOX, PCI and PABP security requirements
  • Overseeing and evaluating systems to ensure hotels comply with corporate and brand standards
  • Ensuring and enforcing that objectives and business initiatives are being followed
  • Implementing and managing departmental processes and procedures to ensure strategies and directives of the Department are in accordance with Department and Hilton objectives
  • Leveraging effective partnerships with preferred vendors, corporate IT and hotel Team Members
  • Managing Department''s progress and advising on key issues to facilitate the decision making process
  • Supporting the Culture of Learning initiatives and other organizational training

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Two (2) years in the Hospitality Industry or related IT field
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Two (2) years in an Information Technology or comparable telecom field role

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Education: BA/BS Bachelor''s Degree
  • Minimum Years of Experience: Five (5) years in Hospitality, Operations and IT support roles
  • Experience administering networks in a Windows Server/Workstation environment in an environment with more than 50 nodes and 2 or more domains
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, including CAT5/6 cabling, wireless networks, network switches, WAN/LAN, domain controller, Active Directory, firewall and VPN applications
  • Experience with Hospitality related applications and systems including PMS, POS, Keycard, PBX, and/or Voicemail
  • Cisco or Microsoft certification
  • Microsoft certifications, including MCSA, MCTS or MCITP for Windows Server, MCDST for workstations
  • Microsoft network admin certifications including MCSA or MCSE
