Job Summary

Our Finance team serves as a critical business partner responsible for managing all global activities related to financial performance, accounting, tax, forecasting, risk management, and asset management.

What will I be doing?

As the Manager of International Tax Operations, we count on you to assist the Senior Manager in ensuring compliance with all U.S. and state income tax filing requirements with respect to all of our activity conducted outside the U.S. (inbound and outbound). You compute foreign source income, including the allocation of interest expense and other expenses, in our unusually complex environment. You play a meaningful role in guaranteeing that compliance is:

  • Technically and mathematically accurate and all proper disclosures are completed
  • Compliance files are thoroughly and contemporaneously documented and are maintained in IRS and State audit ready format
  • Conducive to support the accounting for income taxes in accordance with GAAP (ASC 740) and IFRS (if and when implemented)
We rely heavily upon your deep understanding of taxation of Corporations and specifically, the provisions of tax law that apply to US inbound and outbound activity (sourcing of income, Subpart F inclusions, identification of direct expenses, allocation of indirect expenses, including allocation of interest expense under both the "tax basis" and "fair market value" methods, dual consolidated loss rules, foreign tax credit rules). In this role, you also:
  • Assist in preparing the information related to international activity for purposes of quarterly estimated tax payment and quarterly and annual tax provisions
  • Have the opportunity to collaborate with the Senior Manager and/or VP in ad hoc projects, including projections, audit defense and transactional analysis
  • Assist with US GAAP accounting and forecasting projects related to non-US income
  • Complete reporting of international activity as required for the US Tax Compliance (Forms 1120, 8858, and 5471), including work with foreign accounting records
  • Bring a proven track record of successful leadership and organizational skills, ability to delegate, and provide mentorship to ensure your team''s success
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the US Internal Revenue Code, and ability to research, understand, and document tax technical positions utilizing available research software (i.e. RIA, CCH, BNA)
  • Support the Audit Controversy team with our audits by providing guidance and assistance as needed
  • Assist in leading the team in the design and implementation of operational improvements, which will lead to acceleration of processes, while maintaining accuracy of calculations and strength of internal controls
  • Take initiative to identify necessary resources, including personnel and software needs to fulfill job responsibilities

What are we looking for?

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor''s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting
  • Five (5) years corporate or public accounting experience in the area of income tax
  • Two (2) years of managerial experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and corporate financials (i.e. PeopleSoft, SAP)
  • Fluency in corporate tax software systems, such as Corptax or OneSource
  • Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, specifically those relating to tax reporting (i.e. FAS 109, FIN48) and Internal Revenue Code

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • MS/MA Master''s Degree
  • Seven (7) years of overall tax experience
  • Four (4) years of management experience
  • Two (2) years of tax experience in international income tax
