What will I be doing?

Hilton is looking for a Sales Representative – Business Development and you will be responsible for calling into unmanaged and prospect accounts and closing sales, generating new incremental revenue for the Hilton Worldwide Sales enterprise. You will be working on project based assignments with a goal of growing room revenues through direct solicitations for pre-determined future need periods.

  • Call prospects from a list provided by the sales managers including unmanaged and prospect account, to analyze and spot potential for growth and estimate size of opportunity
  • Researches and analyzes customer information prior to calling the client to ensure personalized calls to engage prospective clients
  • Presents sales pitch to clients with more basic needs
  • Ensures that inputted data is accurate and fully complete
  • Reliably responds to transactional client requests in a timely manner to ensure meeting expectations
  • Effectively uses Hilton''s existing client acquisition sales techniques, with the support of the organization''s reference documents
  • Serves as the first point of contact for client questions
  • Ensures that all CRM data is accurately collected
  • Communicates pricing and promotions to clients on a consistent basis
  • Understands current product offerings including all brands
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of industry trends and upcoming trends competitors are adopting
  • Understands current client needs and how to best address them
  • Consistently follows-up with clients to ensure clients'' needs are met
  • Ensure revenue targets are achieved
  • Effectively asks prospective clients for the sale, using existing sales techniques approved by Hilton
  • Closes sales by building rapport, explaining product and service capabilities, as well as overcoming objections and/or offering alternative solutions
  • Demonstrates the value of multiple brands to the client
  • Understands how to effectively take care of client objections
  • Effectively employs negotiation techniques that facilitate positive outcomes and agreement, while fostering trust
  • Other duties as assigned
Key Relationships Handled:
  • Hotel Sales Staff – to ensure effective follow up and communication between the customer and sales team to produce positive buying decision which impacts the profitability of the hotel as well as to improve and maintains extensive knowledge of hotel property/product
  • Brand Representatives – to improve/maintain and capture up to date knowledge of existing Hotels, New Development, processes/procedures to share with customers in order to impact a positive experience and revenue production
  • Hilton Worldwide Director of Sales – to improve, maintain and capture critical customer information on accounts/industry trends that will affect positive experience
  • Clients – to communicate information which will influence positive sales decisions
  • Competitors – to stay informed of bold strategies/business conditions and develop alternative strategies to counteract and influence customer buying decisions to be more favorable for Hilton

To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • High School/GED
  • Two (2) years of professional experience
  • Two (2) years of Business Development experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • BA/BS Bachelor''s Degree
  • Three (3) years of professional experience
  • Knowledgeable of the hospitality and/or group travel industry
  • In depth knowledge and use in Delphi or similar property sales management system
  • SalesForce experience
