Job Summary

The Marketing & Communications Manager for Northern Territory Cluster is responsible for the development and return of the marketing plan and activities to increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets and address all 4 hotels'' business needs.  This will include advertising, production, promotion, publicity, e-commerce and social media activities to drive long and short term revenue in the hotel, Groups, Conferences & Events.
What will I be doing?

As Manager of Marketing Communications, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • To act as a pro-active support function for all revenue generating departments of the hotel by providing marketing strategy, materials and resources as required
  • Work with the Director of Business Development to ensure maximization of all campaigns and activities including online demand generation
  • Support the sales and business development teams with development of sales collateral, presentations, sales blitz initiatives and corporate gifts
  • Understand the guest profile and our brand standards to develop clear goals to ensure the brand is meeting its service expectations and promotions are effective
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships and with key internal and external stakeholders ensure effectiveness of the marketing function
  • Work actively to develop a profile in the hospitality and broader Marketing community in the Northern Territory to been seen as a key marketing identity
  • Work with the Human Resources department with the rollout of any internal communications and CSR programs.
  • Media liaison and relationship management including writing and distribution of press releases
  • Support our Internship Programs & Internal Cross Training  to develop marketing talent and mentor, delegate and guide Team Members
  • Identify companies that will fit the Hilton brand and represent a  strategic partnership / sponsorship opportunity for the hotels
  • Support the Business Development Team and undertake any other duties as directed by the Director of Business Development
  • Maintain high team focus by showing co-operation and support to colleagues in the pursuit of team goals
  • Develop successful working relationships that promote our Company Vision and act as a brand and Hotel ambassador in championing the Values. 
  • Develop and maintain the annual marketing plan across the four properties in the Northern Territory
  • Implement  a proactive, integrated communications strategy that supports business objectives
  • Arrange hotel photography and videography in line with Hilton''s global photography standards
  • Organise hotel collateral in-line with Hilton''s global brand guidelines
  • Development of style guides for those outlets whose identity falls outside the Hilton Brand Identity Guidelines
  • Ensure hotels compliance in using regional accredited suppliers including; designers, printers, photographers and liaison with Regional Marketing to ensure all accredited agencies receive latest corporate marketing guidelines
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a manner that ensures your safety and that of others in your workplace
  • Champion brand values and ensure the hotel adheres to brand and product standards as well as specific outlet style guides
  • Develop positioning statements and key messages in line with the property''s target audiences
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key attractions and local tourism bodies
  • Create, maintain and implement an effective PR communications plan
  • Develop, maintain and grow the hotels'' databases to promote all hotel disciplines including targeted Hilton Honors campaigns
  • Organise media familiarisation and blogger experiences with a view of securing positive media and social coverage
  • Review SALT and guest feedback to ensure the Hotel is meeting the Guest promise in regards to service delivery and access to promotional benefits and recognize success and development areas and relay to appropriate leader
  • Manage the hotel''s social media channels including internal communications and award submissions for Hotel and key talent
  • Work with regional e-commerce to ensure effective natural search and sponsored search marketing, co-ordinate hotel email marketing campaigns & monitor e-commerce activities of our Hotel and competitor hotels
  • Update and maintain all brand websites, online travel agents, and third-party websites to ensure the content is up to date, engaging and appealing
  • Lead the setting of both hotels marketing & communication plans, and be responsible for the execution of all those activities necessary to deliver those plans. Including development of complimentary positioning statements & SWOT analysis for each hotel
  • Develop & Implement F&B marketing activities and support, develop and execute tactical campaigns to increase covers and increase average check in the restaurant, bar and spa
  • Develop and execute leisure campaigns to cover need periods throughout the year, using both traditional and new media channels to target key source markets
  • Develop and execute seasonal GC&E campaigns in line with need months and special event periods
  • Management of the sales and marketing expenses budget and post campaign analysis to calculate ROI and review success of each campaign
  • Understand the role you play in the financial and commercial success of the business

  • Educated to college level or equivalent in work experience
  • Experience in a similar marketing role
  • Proven experience of supporting, planning and managing project work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of the main functions of marketing and leading projects
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various levels of management
  • Proven experience of working to and understanding key marketing and e-commerce plans and strategies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. High-level proficiency of native language dependant on location of role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, budget management and project and time management
  • Demonstrates an understanding of commercial awareness, able to adapt to changing priorities with key judgement and decision making skills
  • Ability to interact effectively, create solutions, influence others and work diplomatically with a wide range of individuals
  • Professional approach, clean and well-groomed at all times
  • Friendly demeanour, positive and enthusiastic attitude with strong customer focus and able to work independently
  • Honesty, integrity, passion for hard work
  • Demonstrated self-starter, with excellent attention to detail
  • Creatively minded and has a thirst to work in marketing for the hospitality industry
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and is a key team player with a can do attitude and thrives on a challenge
