Job Summary
We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Assistant Food & Beverage Manager. This position reports directly to our Food & Beverage Manager, responsible for the Conference & Events Operations and assisting in overseeing the Food & Beverage outlets in Kawarau Village for Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa and DoubleTree by Hilton Queenstown.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
In your new role you will be responsible for managing the performance of our Conference & Events operations, whilst supporting the Wakatipu Grill, Cru Bar, Stacks, Me&Mee and Lake Counter outlets. You will support your team with daily activities, and ensuring brand service standards are met to the highest quality. You will assist the Food and Beverage Manager and Executive Chef with menu development, and you will be responsible for leading and developing your team to ensure a consistent high level of service.
- Manage and support daily Food & Beverage operations
- Manage the team, ensuring that brand standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded
- Assist with menu planning, and strategic planning to achieve financial targets
- Use your knowledge of local trends to plan menus and strategize action plans to achieve financial targets
- Resolve conflicts and issues where necessary
- Evaluate levels of Guest satisfaction and assist the F&B Manager with continuous improvements
- Train and develop team members
- Ensure your team maintains a professional manner and are up to date with VIP guest movements, hotel events, local attractions and activities
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- At least 2 years'' experience in a Food and Beverage Supervisory or Management role
- Experience in Conference & Events
- Fluent in the English language in order to communicate professionally with guests and team members, both in person and over the telephone
- Able to think outside of the box
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and conflict, and work efficiently under pressure
- Well-presented, organised and calm personality
It would be advantageous for you to demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Multi-lingual
- Previous experience in a hotel environment
