As an Events Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the set-up and clean-up of DoubleTree Waterfront events. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Supervise food and beverage service throughout the event spaces, ensuring quality service and product quality
  • Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all functions including, but not limited to, buffets, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, cocktail parties, morning and afternoon teas and any other functions which occur.
  • Greet and welcome client representative and guests, responding to requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Participate in weekly BEO meetings and discuss Event Orders
  • To help maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the Event spaces, and ensure that team members are continually partaking in given duties and productivity is maximized.
  • To help maintain a high level of grooming and ensure that team members project a positive image at all times.
  • To be fully responsible for all keys and equipment issued and ensure that security is maintained at all times.
  • To manage events and functions as required
  • To ensure sufficient handover and briefing to the team and escalate any concerns with guests or team members to the Food & Beverage Services Manager
  • Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Follow cash handling procedures
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas
  • Plan, organise and control the daily operations
  • Ensure compliance of brand standards
  • Represent needs of the team
  • Assist Food and Beverage with achieving financial targets
  • Assist Food and Beverage Service Manager with training and developing the team
  • Assist with performance development reviews with team members under your responsibility
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Comply with local licensing laws
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Able to work in all areas of Conference and Banqueting including Bar, Restaurant, and Room Service


As an Events Supervisor, you will be also responsible for: 

  • Attend weekly and monthly F&B meetings and any other meetings as requested
  • Delight guests with extraordinary service by giving a little more of your best with every service you provide
  • Lead from the front, set a great example to your people and inspire great performance
  • To assist in the monitoring of correct billing and accounting of all transactions
  • Review and communicate SALT results to your team members, and actively develop strategies in order to keep SALT scores above the benchmark  
  • Act as a coach, mentor and leader for the Events team

  • Previous bar supervisory experience within dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • A passion for hospitality, up to date with the latest industry trends and the ability to drive new initiatives.
  • Exceptional grooming standards appropriate for a full-service environment.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings and late nights as required.
  • Strong product knowledge and advanced stakeholder management skills. 
  • Completed tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management is desirable.
  • Ability to work varying shifts including nights, mornings, weekdays, weekends and public holidays;
  • Hold a nationally recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification;
  • An ability to be observant and attentive with guests;
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
  • Ability to work on your own or in teams
  • A high level of personal grooming and presentation;
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong focus on guest satisfaction;
  • Completed AHA COVID-19 Hygiene Course;
  • Availability for an immediate start  
  • Hold unrestricted Australian Working Rights.
