The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for an Employment Coordinator to join our Human Resources Team! It’s an exciting time to join the resort with a recently completed $200M renovation project that included additional banquet space and other exciting F&B enhancements.

Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 700 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 96,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace and an ice cream shop.

In this role, you will assist the Human Resources Office in administrative functions at the Hotel Del Coronado and have an opportunity to learn more roles within the HR office. 

The ideal candidate should have experience one year experience in administrative work or worker's comp in a high volume environment. The ideal candidate should also have a drive for innovation, fosters a positive and engaging culture. Prior hotel and union experience are a plus. Bilingual skills are preferred (Spanish).

What will I be doing?

A Human Resources Administrative Assistant performs a variety of duties directly supporting the Human Resources Team with administrative support, including typing, filing, answering telephones, taking messages, maintaining appointment calendar, internal customer service and other general office duties. Ensures such support occurs in a timely, orderly, efficient, and professional manner. Other duties consist of but not limited to the below:

  • Greet and assist team members and respond to requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Attend all required meetings
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all Emergency procedures. Reports unsafe conditions, as appropriate
  • Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with other departments, team members and guests
  • Answer telephones and check voicemails
  • Accurately answer basic Employment, Benefits, and Human Resources inquiries.
  • Mail pick up and distribution on a daily basis
  • Respond to written employment verifications
  • Assist with payroll items
  • Create and run reports in MS Excel
  • Partner with adjusters, team members and their managers
  • Issue Company ID’s and key cards to new and existing associates
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of Receptions Desk, Reception Area and File Room
  • Maintain filing system in accordance with the Record Retention policy
  • Perform other office duties and assist with special projects as needed
  • Assists in communication with candidates and team members including start date calls, orientation calls and follow up calls. 

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual - Spanish (preferred)
  • 1 Year administrative assistant experience
  • Exception communication & written skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
