  • Manage a team of over 70 gardeners for all aspects of horticulture management at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) which includes landscape management, irrigation and turf management, structural and horticultural pest management and arboriculture
  • Proactively and creatively propose solutions related to horticulture issues, keep close connection with segment and external horticulture consultants to learn the best practices, study the feasibility and localization of the solutions to HKDL
  • Liaise with internal parties including WDI & SQS and provide technical advice in the new projects, including IFP projects, new attractions and new area of development. Take lead in the project implementation including sourcing, planning, execution and maintenance, make sure the show quality is delivered and maintained according to the approved plan
  • Develop proactive landscape maintenance strategies/guidelines while managing budget/cost control, guest safety, training and staff development. Provide supports and guidance to Cast Members of all levels and meet with individual Cast Member regularly. Build and sustain a resource-rich work environment for Cast Members
  • Manage landscape contractors and their performances during the contract period on the peripheral landscape areas, e.g. Berms, ILRC, Arboretum, Tree Farm, PTI, Coach and Car Park
  • Liaise and conduct regular site walk with WDI-Landscape and SQS Team to improve the very dynamic nature of landscape including park recovery after adverse weather impact
  • Partner with Public Affairs to promote conservations and build HKDL's image as a green organization. Be a professional representative of HKDL on horticulture related matters in response to any enquiry make to the company
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Horticulture, Arboriculture or related subjects
  • At least 12 years of experience in horticulture/landscape maintenance plus 8 years managerial experience in public park or botanic garden administration
  • Certified Arborist/ Tree Risk Assessor
  • In-depth knowledge in running large-scale landscape maintenance with good business sense
  • Thorough understanding and insights on the operation practices in order to maximize the benefits of using the right tools/equipment and plants for limited resources and dealing with landscape and pest management contractors
  • Solid experience in the cultivation and maintenance of various ornamental plants.
  • Professional and sound knowledge to identify different landscape pests and diseases and apply different groups of pesticides to achieve optimal control
  • Strong service oriented mind set and can-do attitude in dealing with the guests and operators
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in written & spoken Cantonese and English
