About the job

Our client is developing a new venue in downtown Shanghai that will consist of various new restaurants and bars. For 2 of these new opening restaurants HRC International has been asked to recruit an experienced and talented manager

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated creative and passionate individual with the ability to exceed expectations to become part of our team in Shanghai. The General Manager will be responsible for the full operations of the restaurant. We are looking for a highly motivated creative passionate outgoing individual with the ability to exceed expectations to become part of their team in Shanghai. The General Manager is an entrepreneur with excellent social skills who knows the Shanghai culinary scene inside out. Previous work experience should be at high-end reputable restaurants.

Job responsibilities:

• Be inspirational to all team members
• Maintain safety and sanitation in the restaurant
• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the workers and resources of the restaurant for the efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service of food and beverages
• Looking for appropriate restaurant operational solutions in creative ways
• Maintain communications with Corporate Staff
• Coach and counsel employees to reflect a high Service Standards and Procedures
• Has clear long-term vision and short-term objectives, and executes plans accordingly
• Daily, weekly, monthly and annual report to project manager and CEO
• Ability to recruit, identify and train qualified team members
• Excellence in execution and efficient operational standards


Qualifications:

• Proven leadership skills
• Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English or Chinese
(be able to communicate with staff with language barriers when some of staff only speak Chinese)
• Willing to try adventures in Shanghai
• Break traditional rules in problem solution and marketing strategies
• At least 3-year professional management experience
• Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
• Be able to work under pressure and be flexible about work time
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
• Service oriented style with professional service skills
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Professional wine experience and knowledge would be a plus
