Summary
Manage the Interior Design Brand Standards for the Hyatt Place and Hyatt house programs for multiple managed and/or franchised properties associated with new construction, renovations and potential conversion projects located throughout the Americas.  This will require monitoring product quality and design consistency across a collection of the Hyatt Select product lines through the supervision of established specifications and standards in areas of products, materials, interior design and architecture. This position (& team) will update and maintain the most current prototypical documents which include drawings, specifications, bulletins, etc…for the HP & HH programs. Responsibilities for this position will also include any interior renovations for the existing portfolio of hotels which may include overseeing established Product Improvement Plans (PIPs) for these hotels and any potential conversion properties. This position will also provide direction and approval for all custom design presentations including both the hotel’s public space and guestrooms. This individual will have daily interaction with external owners, developers, architecture, and designers as well as all internal departments such as Brand, Development, Operations, IT, Legal etc. Some travel will be required both domestic and international.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate being the single point of contact providing knowledgeable and reliable support for product and renovation information.
  • Be fully knowledgeable and conversant on established core-brand and multi-product line standards, specifications and all document and drawing associated with the Prototype Programs.
  • Provide the resource to determine and support hotel compliance with company specifications.  Conduct site visits as needed with written documentation.
  • Review design drawings, interior specifications, material submittals, proposed samples and interior design specifications for compliance with Brand Standards and direction.
  • Visit and review proposed model rooms for new or conversion hotels. Create written reviews and document that new design is consistent in design and quality for the HP and HH Brands.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of FF&E, construction related materials, new products and processes to assure quality and consistency for the prototypical designs.
  • Assist in the development and/or enhancement of Program documents, sequencing and tracking each project’s adherence to their approved critical path.
  • Establish and maintain regular communications and interaction with the Architectural and Design Group, Projects Services Team, Operational Team, etc. on all current and pending conversion and renovation projects including reviewing design presentation and product selections.
  • Maintain solid working relationship with Owners, project managers, designers, suppliers, purchasing companies and contractors.
  • Provide project and technical support.  Monitor specific assigned projects to help ensure timely completion and quickly identify potential delays/challenges.

Qualifications

 

Experience

  • 3 years experience in the Hospitality industry and 5 years in related Design, Construction and Architecture
  • 3 years experience working for or with a major Hotel Brand company

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • LEED certified preferred

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job

  • Strong experience in Excel, Word, Adobe and PowerPoint
  • AutoCAD

Additional Comments and Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with multiple individuals, internal departments, and cultures is expected.
